The face of a changing landscape – a portrait show. The artists are all documenting areas and people whose lives are changing. Whether it is an environmental or economic change – the change is real and complex. Each project has been a long time study. It’s the sense of the passage of time that gives these projects a sense of quietness and grandeur. The manner of presenting these works – in today’s terms – is unconventional. Rarely do we see a photography show comprised primarily of hand printed photographs (silver gelatine, lithography and alternative processes) with no real human presence in the image. It is critical to know that the method of printing these photographs was just as important as the taking the image.

Lisa Murzin (https://lisamurzinphotography.com/) – has been following the change in the family farm across Ontario and has begun to look at the differences and similarities across Canada.

Monica Glitz (https://www.monicaglitz.com/) – has been travelling around the world to visit and document the UNESCO world heritage sites.

Paulette Michayluk – has been documenting the changing face of the streets of Toronto and the small quiet spaces on the prairies. These works are printed using alternative printing methods (crafted by hand and intensely unique).

Few artists choose to present their works like this because of the challenge of printing in this manner but also because these methods are being lost – much like the landscapes that are being depicted.
